Catching up one holiday at a time

Wow. We're really bad bloggers. That's okay, we'll do it when we get around to it.

So here's a few of our favorite moments from Halloween '07:

Our little ladybugs invaded the Struck Halloween party.

Eve was just happy to be there, but Eliza
wasn't messing around. She dominated
at the donut on a string game.

This is just before Eve stabbed daddy in the eye with the pointy end of the carving tool. Grandma Euni looked on in horror, but kept her comments to herself. We'll remember that moment next year before we hand anyone any carving implements.

The finished products!

The infamous Driggs Elementary Halloween parade!

Eliza Ladybug channeling her inner Beth Orton.

All in all, a great psuedo-holiday.

We had a great time Takin' It To The Street.

Fall-ing by the wayside

Where does the time go? With Eve in school, Eliza starting her speech-therapy school, church responsibilities, and October birthdays to celebrate, a month has gone by and it seems like a week. We had a grand celebration on October 5th at Fat Cats (arcade/bowling alley/pizza place) to celebrate Jenny's birthday, and the fact that our house in Buda,TX finally sold and closed. Hip-hip-hooooray!

Now we're having another little adventure, house/dog sitting for some family friends. The girls are loving being in charge of some doggy's for a little while. See?

They also like the big big bathtub with bubbles like this:

Besides all of that excitement, we got rid of our Ford Focus ZX3 and got a new ride.
Look for the next post to include photos of our 2007 Mazdaspeed3

School Daze

Eve is ready to learn.

(apologies for small/pixalated vids- we'll remember to change the setting for higher res next time)

It's official. We've got school-age kids. Eve started her academic career last Wednesday, September 5, 2007. She was super excited and didn't mind that she was the only P.M. Kindergarten student that rode the bus on Day 1. So far she loves it. No surprise there. Eliza is getting used to being without big sister. But not for long! We found out we're having girl #3 at an ultra-sound appointment a few days ago. She's developing normally and is on track to be delivered in late January. That makes 16 total females out of 19 Black grandchildren. Grandma Euni must be the better half. She'll have lots of other little girls to play with.

So, the school year has started and we have to pay attention to it. What a change.

Bear Lake weekend!

Tongan Ninja- Best.Worst.Movie.Ever.
This was just one of the things that made us laugh this weekend with our friends from Team KWGCS up at beautiful Bear Lake in Garden City, UT.

Here's some more:

The kids hugging a 1,000 yr. old tree.

Chewy, Warmdaddy, Grinch, Klausey, and The Baron at the Coppola-Cabana
(or is that Popola's cabana?)

Happy Trails!

Tatum and Eve practice their Gap Kids poses.

We had a great time up at the Birth's cabin with everyone. The highlights included a perfect day at the beach all day Saturday, some delicious Bear Lake raspberry shakes, and watching the kids play so well together.
The lowlights- the aftermath of one mammoth of a crisp bean burrito.

It's good to be here.

Hay there! The girls take a break from all the fun.

Gobble gobble! Eliza gets friendly with the animals at
This Is The Place State Heritage Park.

Eve and her daddy enjoy a ride up Silver Lake lift at Deer Valley.
(is that a purse, or a European carry-all on his shoulder?)

Now that we're back in Utah, time is flying faster than ever. We've got all kinds of family gatherings, church activities, and get togethers with friends. We've been up Millcreek Canyon a few times in the last two weeks, and it's served as a nice reminder of all the things we've been missing in Minnesota and Texas for the last 6 years. It's nice to be back. We're looking forward to heading up to the Birth's cabin at Bear Lake with the rest of Team KWGCS and the 801's (www.teamkwgcs.org) this coming weekend. We'll be sure to take our camera this time.

P.S. If anyone reading this knows someone moving to the Austin, TX area, we'll give 'em a great deal on a practically brand new house!
